Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
Just taken Blood sugar 2 hrs after dinner. Mind you I didn't eat much. 2.7
Was going to try taking another Metformin SL, haven't taken an evening one yet as B/S always much lower in the afternoon.
Feel a bit light headed.
Only got tomatoes and cucumber as far as carbs are concerned.

@filly if your level is under 4 (hypo) you must treat it with fast acting carbs like jelly babies as soon as possible.
If you are treating your diabetes with insulin you need to always have fast acting carbs with you so you can treat your hypo.

I also recommend talking to your doctor about your insulin dose. If you are experiencing hypos, your insulin dose is too high for the food you are eating.

Thanks only on diet and tablets. No insulin. Must get jelly babies.

Did you retest? That’s low are you on anything else other than metformin? You need to have some fast acting carbs - if you don’t have a biscuit etc do you have nuts or peanut butter or maybe something around 5g carb? Do you have any milk? When I was on Gliclizide a milky drink would help. Your liver should kick in and help you out if your not on anything other than metformin, try to find something to eat and then sit quiet and test every 15 minutes until you see a rise to anything above 4

Have peanut butter. Thank you shall then keep testing.

What meds are you on apart from Metformin?
One Metformin slow release 500mgs. Have been taking one a day and this next week up to two. I haven't done that yet. Although sugars up in morning drop down during the day.

@filly - 2.7 is low, but for those with T2 and managing their condition by diet, and sometimes some Metformin will usually find their body will dump some glucose to help them nudge the blood sugar up.

Did you retest when you got the 2.7 reading? Were your hands properly dry when you tested?
I sometimes find myself with numbers in the upper end of the 2s. When this happens I'm usually hungry and ready for a meal. If my meal is ready, I just crack on and eat it. If not, I just have a drink, with milk, just to nudge my numbers up a bit. I don't take in glucose, and I don't reach for the jelly babies.

It's up to you how you tackle the situation when low, but I would urge you to retest and treat it gently.

If you were using stringer meds, or insulin, my suggestions would be very different.

I use the dark format for the forum. In that format, some of your text isn't the most visible. Of course, how you format your test is entirely up to you, but some folks may not have been able to read potentially important information in your post.

Thankfully, the OP is not using insulin or other blood glucose reducing medication.
