    Hi all.
I had a coffee earlier and added single cream,
It spiked my bg to 10.
Why would this happen. Is it the heat. ?

Pretty unlikely to be the coffee or cream (double is better and nicer than single) sure you didn't have something on your finger? Did you just test once or try again?

Are you sure it was just standard single cream, not Elmlea or such which have more carbs in?

Was the coffee in the morning? perhaps was synonymous with the morning "dawn effect" :bag:

Did my bgs it was 8.1. A bit high.
It eased off within about half hour.
Had coffee and cream and been fine.

What was your BG before the coffee and cream? how long after drinking did you test?

I drink black coffee on an empty stomach each morning and I find that it raises my bs pretty significantly. I believe that it is due to the glycogen spilling out of the liver. The cream has nothing to do with it since my coffee is black.
