Bleeding infusion site

Dear Friends

I wonder if anyone might have some advice for me? I have been using my pump for three years now and i have been having problems with my infusion sites for over a year. I favour my stomach area but have used the love handles as well. My problem is that after having a set in for 24 hours it starts to bleed. It occasionally bleeds back into the tube but most of the time it bleeds onto the sticky patch. I have tried different infusion sets and different lengths of needle. It doesn't seem to matter where I put it, it still happens. I rang Accu Check support who advised that I just have to change it daily but this leaves me with less sites to work with. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, what do you do? Thanks in anticipation.
 
What sets and lengths are you currently using? Are you on any medication which effects your blood?

Have you tried the area above the waistline and below the bust - between the ribs I get a row of 4-5 sites in.
 
You could also try steel needles instead of canulas. They make a smaller hole so I'm guessing they are less likely to bleed, with a very bleedy person like yourself. They only last 2 days though.
 
My stomach bleeds and leaks. My legs are quite bad for this too. On my bum I probably get one bleed once a year if that.. Can't remember last time to be honest...

I just went onto some less deep sets to stop the bleeding and that seems to have worked so far - I am using my legs and the chunkiest part that I can find, I also use my love handles - my stomach never feels like it has a deep layer plus I never injected into it, so the only thing that goes there is the cgm,
 
The Inset 30 is a lovely set to use. It can be used on legs tummy etc but might need a bit of help from someone else if inserting in the backside so that the fine introducer needle is pulled out straight
