Blood glucose Correct information

Can anyone confirm the information on Blood glucose levels DB/UK gives the following on a web page

• Normal: Below 42 mmol/mol (6.0%)

• Prediabetes: 42 to 47 mmol/mol (6.0 to 6.4%)

• Diabetes: 48 mmol/mol (6.5% or over)

But the mmol to % figures are different to others available, for instance 42mmol equates to 7% not 6%
and 48mmo; is well over 7% Its all confusing for a newbie

Nobleheads link provided all the info and you understood.
I just want to point out one main difference between hba1c and bg levels. Hba1c is measured as mmol/ mol and Bg as mmol/l

Also confusing is that they use mmol/mol like these for Hba1c tests but for immediate testing it's usually mmol/litre, which is about 1/6th as much. I've no idea why they have to be different.

It's a headache at first. The only figures I look at at all are my meter readings (measuring blood sugar at a given moment in mmols) and the HbA1c IFCC figure ( see top of the chart below) and the HbA1c in mmols (representing the average blood sugar level over the preceding 3 month period. The HbA1c is obviously more accurate and more valid as a true indicator, but the meter reading level is how I judge what I eat. I found this chart a real help.
