Anyone know anything about the differences?

For instance - how effective is injected insulin at reducing BG that are elevated due to Glucogenesis?

I've got a pretty stressful job, and I wonder if elevated levels of cortisol are leading to hi-BG?

Firstly Glucose isn't GENERATED by the Kidneys which are used primararly to filter toxic waste and excess water from the blood which is the collected in the bladder to be later discharged.
Stress is one of the enemies of diabetes, as it can bring about a rise in B/G levels as can several other medical conditions Thyroid/Adrenaline/Hormon releases that can stimulate the LIVER into dischaging it's temporay store of 'GLUCOSE' back into the blood.
Increasing Insulin will obviously counteract any adverse B/G rises, but is this what you would want to do !!!
Some people can live with stress and indeed many get a BUZZ from it, but try if you can to control this emotion which will ultimately help in controlling the rise in B/G that you are experiencing. Chill out Man.
