I wonder if anyone can offer me some insight

i wake up with blood glucose 10.9 and withing 2 hours it is down to 6.9 and stays there most of the day

is that normal? is it a cause for concern?

doctor has been unable to answer my question.

i eat very low carb

dawn phenomenon, liver dump..hormones during the night, insulin resistance and the last BG to get right, keep going with the LC make sure you eat enough fats/olive oils
cut gain, grain product=bread pasta, starchy veg=potato corn, sugary stuff fruit and juice

it’s a long page and a video

For me, the more carbs we eat the more carbs we want. they don’t give up easy.

I eat very low carb already lol

but thank you

so there is nothing i can do and just keep going as I am?

if not already, ask your dr about increasing your metformin to 2000 will help your fasting BG, but it is what it is for now, try and keep your post meal 2 hr test under 2mm rise

Metformin will help with dawn phenomenon as it inhibits Glucose production by the liver.

You could experiment with eating your dinner a bit later or having a small late night snack before bed to try and keep your overnight levels a bit higher and hopefully stop your liver from intervening to raise your glucose levels.

thank you for the excellent suggestions

already taking metformin at max dosage

I would start taking some readings before bed, or during the night if you wake up at all, to see if there is any relationship between these and your morning levels.

You say that you are back to 6,9 two hours later. Is that two hours after breakfast?

Although 11,9 is high, how much of a concern it is depends on how long you spend at this kind of levels as well.

Perhaps try a small protein snack before bed and see if that helps.

if you have 6.9 most of the day, I would really need to cut more carbs, I would be looking for 5's in the afternoon
