I have just started using my new code 3 and I am starting to try and read and judge the results
I have just done a pre meal test and it came back as 137 MGDL, could someone who has a
Knowledge of the readings tell me if this is good or bad,

GPs who say blood testing is irrelevent
Hi Andy,

Looks like you have it set for the US readings? There is a useful converter here:

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-converter.html

What is a good reading depends on what type of diabetes you have, I'm guessing type 2 as you've posted in that forum.

Your reading converts to 7.6 which is a little high for a pre-meal reading, but not scary as a one off reading.

Typically it should be between 4 and 7 before eating and aim for no more than about 8.5. Once you have a few readings take an average and plug them into here to get a feel for where you should be:

Welcome to the forum, this place has been absolutely fantastic for me to get a feel for where I should be and helping to discover what is good for me.

Everyone is different, you just need to find what works for you.

Diabetes, know it alls
Another very quick way to convert Mgdl to mmol is to divide Mgdl by 18.
