Oh yes!

Probably the "dawn phenomenon". Are you testing before you eat and 2 hours after the first bite? Most useful when you are first starting out.

Welcome to the forum. Best place on the planet for all things diabetic and help and support.

Hello and welcome

You have found a great site for information and support.

I noticed this is your first post soI have posted a link below of information that may be helpful.

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/basic-information-for-newly-diagnosed-diabetics.26870/

There is a lot to get your head around so take your time and feel free to ask any questions you like.

You mention you are doing low carb so it sounds like you have already been reading this forum.

A lot of things can impact your blood sugar levels- the amount of carbs you eat but also stress, illness and exercise to name a few.

Are you measuring before meals and 2 hours after? One reading alone is probably not going to give you enough information.

I'm sure someone will be here shortly to post more advice and questions- but ion the meantime -welcome and continue to read and ask questions.

Oh and Merry Christmas.

Thank you for the information it’s much appreciated. I test my sugar level 2 hours after my main meal and I test my level when I wake up before breakfast. Happy Christmas to you 2

Hi- I suggest that you test just before your meal as well as 2 hours after- that will give you information about the meal. Without the 'before' figure the after figure doesn't give you the effect of that meal on your levels.

Good luck and keep posting and testing

It does. It goes up and down all day, affected by what your liver dumps, what you eat, how much or little you move about, whether you're stressed, ill, sleeping well or not, medication... It's constantly changing. That's why a meter is handy. :) You should also check before the meal, so you know what the difference is between before and 2 hours after the first bite. It's valuable information. ;)

Merry Christmas,
Jo

presuming those are different meal times in order of days

would be useful to post what you ate those days

over 8 after a meal and i'd want to know what it was so i could
A. not eat next time
B Reduce portion size.
