Blood sugar levels gone haywire since using Libre 2

I've been T1 for 34 years and recently started on Libre 2. At dinner times I take Lantus and Humalog but within 2/3 hours my Libre alarm tells me I'm low but in the morning the reading is anywhere between 12 and 16.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That’s quite limited information to go on, but it certainly implies you’re taking the Insulin too early (hence the Low)

Why you go High in the morning could be a number of things, not necessarily connected to your evening meal.

@andyasw are you confident that your basal insulin (Lantus) dose is correct?
It maybe useful to start with a basal test to ensure that is correct and then work out timing and dose of your bolus (Humalog). Bear in mind your bolus dose may vary at different times of the day.

The highs are not in the mornings but within a few hours of my dinner (evening meal).
If you are taking your Lantus at night, you maybe noticing that it is not lasting 24 hours. Some people split their Lantus (some in the morning and some at night) for this reason

I’m not sure I’m following you any more, as in the initial post you said the Lows were occurring in the same time frame that you’re now saying the Highs are occurring.

Any rational analysis of the blood glucose level in itself I will leave to others in this instance, but it may simply be that your Libre 2 sensor is a new one & new sensors take a while to settle in sometimes leading to crazy results that swing right up and right down. My theory is that when you apply the sensor, the skin tissue is temporarily damaged and affects the readings. After a few days usually, when my new sensor has settled in, the readings become more understandable.

Having said that 12-16 mmoles is pretty high, so the advice you've already been given here is worth considering....?

It may be the food you are eating, I have been a type 1 for 60 years. I find bananas and rice appear to raise my blood sugar levels many hours after having eaten them. I use a spreadsheet to record what and when

I use a spreadsheet to record what and when I have eaten but it also allows me to record insulin doses and blood sugar readings. This gives me some insight into the potential culprits.

Do you ever double check your Libre readings with a finger prick? I have found my Libre readings to frequently be way out. My Libre report Says I have had 29 hypos in the last 90 days, and I am very hypo aware and as far as I am concerned, I have had one hypo. I tend to use the Libre as a guide and if my levels appear extreme, I will check with a finger prick.
