Hi please could someone give me an answer to this question
I get on far better checking my sugars and keeping on track so I am not jabbing I use a libre
My question is what or is there a limit from checking before meals to checking 2hours later
For example. 4.1. Before breakfast 2 hours later 5.2. Which is brill. But because libre constantly tracks I can see it goes up to just over 9 at around the hour mark.
Thank you in advance xx

It's a personal thing, some like to scan often post meals & set their own limits.
Some like to ensure they never go over 7.8(140) at any time.
This is probably based on real world data of non-diabetics wearing CGMs

As you see they only spend 30mins a day > 7.8(140).
The thinking is if we stay the same then the similar likelihood of complications in the future which is minimal.

This webinar may be of interest as it covers the importance of time in range.

Thats the beauty and the real benefit of libres (and similar tech). They will show patterns that may be missed by finger pricks. 9 for a short while isn't too high, occasionally, but try over time to see if there's a pattern and whether it's a particular food.
Remember bg can also be affected by exercise (and lack of it), sleep (and lack of it) stress, illness medications and much more.
For example one day I was wearing a libre, was fasting (no food at all) but a really stressful situation arose. I spiked up to 13 3 times over the next 8 hours until the situation resolved, then my bg returned to normal and level.

Use the libre to see if you can identify patterns. It's a mix of how low the rise and how quickly it can be flattened that is good. A prolonged (hours) High spike is not good
