Hi all,
I remember seeing a post somewhere where a member very kindly shared all sorts of recommendations for blood sugar monitors. Unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere!
If there are any machines that anyone can recommend, would really appreciate it!

Or even better

Hello
It’s arrived and I can’t get the lancets into the holder at all. I have even run to boots bought a new lancet pen and lancets and same issue. I’ve tried watching YouTube instructional videos but it’s all ‘just click it in!’ And I physically can not get the lancets to sit far enough into any pen. Also the two pens are very different size holes-as per photo. If anyone can lend any advice on this I would be forever grateful as currently sat crying with frustration!

Edited to add-can’t upload a pic as it’s too big!

It sounds like you’re getting stuck at the point where you have unscrewed the end of the lancet pen and inserted the lancet. At this point you need to push the part of the pen that holds the lancet down which ‘shortens’ the lancet so the end will screw back on.

So it turns out there are two ‘caps’ I needed to remove, and the instructions only mentioned one. Got the 2nd cap off and the lancet fits. What an idiot! Thank you so much for your reply x

And be aware because it is for your sole use, you won't need to change the lancet every time. That advice is for health professionals who use it on multiple patients. Just change yours whenever you feel it's getting blunt or you want to.
