I have had type 2 diabetes for about 10/12 years, controlled with Repaglinide. About 6 months ago, my blood sugar rocketed to mid-20's. I slowly increased the dosage [under medical supervision] to 4mg per day without any improvement - first am reading about 15 -13 . I was changed over to Gliclazide, initially 2 x 80mg, blood sugar 14. This was increase to 4 x 80 mg, no change.
This month I was changed again to SR Metformin 1 x 500mg - no change. A week ago, this was increased to 2 x 500mg - if anything the blood sugar has increased slightly.
My diet has not changed for decades. Everytime I ask about blood sugar levels, I get various answers. I have no idea whether my levels are very high or just above the average. I do want to avoid insulin if at all possible.
So, three different drugs and different dosages.
Any suggestions welcome.
