I'm not keen on them myself, so I make sure I close my eyes, think on something else and let it happen.

Distraction is the name of the game - concentrate on the light or something else in the room. (or think about what a phlebotomist said to me - which made me giggle - "the worst ones are the young fit men who come in for a blood test - they are the fainters!"). (and they call women the weaker sex - ha ha!)

Good phlebotomists are usually very quick. Just look away.

I was very scared of it when I was in the children ward. I am totally fine with them now I get them done in the adult one. I'm 13 so. All other appointments are done in the children's
