Hi i am 42 and whilst my hba1c is not perfect comparing to the standards I read on here hopefully I’ll get there eventually,

I am currently running a hba1c of about 7.2 which is my best ever since I became a teenager.

lock down has helped massively for me and currently still working from home.

Anyway I had my first holiday for 2 years and did a lot of swimming with my son and my control went very haywire I felt was a factor of eating more than normal and relaxing on holiday but had a few nights where no matter what I did I couldn’t get my control down.

i think after about 5 days I realised my pod was probably lose as a factor of swimming and the last two days I changed it daily and control got better.

Anyway I flew back yesterday and had an insane pressure sort of headache on the flight I’ve never had many headaches but felt crushing.

I had limited sleep last night as a factor of sort of holiday blues.
At work today at about 3 I couldn’t see very well my eyes were all bright and glarey I couldn’t feel my hand very well either.

I panicked a bit about a stroke etc but after 45 mins I got thru it.

i Then had another numb sensation in my arm again.

Im currently in a and e and wondered if anyone else had similar symptoms after a week or so of pretty high control … I was ranging from 14-21 for quite a few days no matter what I did.

sorry for the long winded question any help or advice would be gratefully received.

I get those sort of symptoms when I get a migraine.
Haven't ever tested bg when I get one, maybe I should.
I have had fewer migraines since going low carb, but still get them occasionally

Your insane pressure headache is the elephant in the room rather than your diabetes. A really bad migraine comes to mind. 'People who have hemiplegic migraine experience temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of the body. This symptom can appear before or alongside a headache. People may feel numbness or tingling in the leg, arm, or side of the face.' It's just a guess. You should seek medical attention immediately.

Yup thank you for your responses.
I tested my bloods and was 7.1 at the time.

Currently in a and e still ecg was fine going for ct scan and bloods next. Hopefully be home and in bed by 1 am.

Feel a week of bad control may be a factor.

I’ve had numerous high readings over the past 32 years but none where I couldn’t get it down for a few days so perhaps linked to that. I’m not sure.
Sorry to be needy. I was just anxious waiting and thought I would see if anyone else with similar symptoms before.

many thanks for your kind replies and time as ever.

Please don't be sorry for sharing your hard times and worries, to my thinking having people to share is one of the most important functions of a forum!

I'll have my fingers crossed for being in your own bed shortly and waking up feeling much better!

You are in the best place. Hopefully you will be ok and home in your bed soon. Let us know how you get on. Take care
