lately, When i wake up it would take me about 30 seconds of complete blurriness. should this be a symptom of high blood count or just an eye problem.

Changes in vision are very common as a result of raised blood sugars, and they normally go back to normal when the blood sugars go back. (It's very common to advise new diabetics to avoid buying expensive new glasses till their levels have settled). But I personally haven't heard of this being a temporary thing just on waking. (Hopefully some other diabetics will comment on this). Dr Google says that there are lots of possible reasons for blurry vision in the morning, many/most of which are benign, but I still wouldn't want to take a chance on my vision by ignoring this.

Are you able to contact a health professional to discuss this? (Phone consultation?) Eyes are very important, and it's much better to be safe than sorry.

I’ve had similar for a few years. The optician told me it was dry eyes. And once diagnosed type 2 was further told it’s not unusual for us. It hasn’t gone completely it is much better than it used to be since I got control. There are sprays and drops available over the counter to help that might be worth a go. Massaging over closed eyelids helps “warm up” the lipid coating and tear ducts as will a warm flannel both speeding up the clearing.

Its also common when reducing bgl quite quickly but only lasts a few weeks til your eyes get used to new better levels. Don’t buy glasses just yet if this sounds likely. Cheap as chips readers if you need them off the shelf to tide you over for close up work.

Dry eyes, possibly brought on by blepharitis or allergies is more likely, I think...
