Some of you know I'm having lots of difficulty shifting fat in spite of eating LCHF and being genuinely at least moderately active.
In the past I've dismissed people who have suggested that I might not be eating enough to lose weight. After all, it's a ludicrous idea, right?
However, after happening upon an interesting-looking post on MFP I've just worked out my basal metabolic rate (how many calories I'd spend just lolling around in bed all day) on fitnessfrog for someone my age, weight and height. It's 2338.
My daily calorie goal is 1680 (set on MFP), so you'd imagine I was safely within calorie deficit, right?
Well, I then worked out my TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and found it to be 3624 calories.
Lots of people on MFP report having great success on eating 15% less calories than their TDEE (around 3000 for me).
If it turned out I was eating far less than I could/should be, my thinking is that it'd go some way to explaining why I'm so bone-achingly tired and lethargic all the time...
Anyone had success using this formula? Especially on LCHF?
