Hi,

I have been using the same calculation for calculating bolus dose as I did for my correction dose but recently been told that this might be wrong.

Has anyone experience of this or know if there are 2 separate calculations?

any advice would be appreciated as I am struggling to in touch with GP and nurse.

many thanks

Can you tell us a bit more on how you are calculating?

Usually bolus doses are calculated based on the amount of carbs in the meal you're about to eat. (Plus taking into account things like current blood glucose and planned activity.)

Correction doses are usually calculated based on how much insulin will drop your blood glucose by how much, no carbs involved.

So now I'm puzzled as to how you can calculate both with the same method.
