@poohtiggy
I'm doing ok @Kat100 . Having good days with good control and then some not so good when I lose willpower and knowingly eat the wrong stuff.
all a challenge @RosieLKH I spend less time worrying about diet when I am chatting on thr what are you doing now thread or the
Scream thread or in the girls shed , they could all be books lol .. Drop in for a chat x

The fourth book of the 'Girl with the Dragon tattoo' series is coming out shortly.
Looking forward to that!
I think I'll wait until the price comes down. The reviews aren't too bad considering it's not the original author. I read somewhere that Stig Larsen left a lot of notes and drafted bits for a fourth book, but I don't this is based on those. I'd guess those notes are still tied up in legal battles over ownership between hs common law wife and the rest of his family.

Me too, why do people fight over something that doesn't belong to them?

I just couldn't get into the first one. I tried the film but that left me cold as well
Read the book ordered the DVD, excellent and the books after, carry on in the same vein!

It's good that foreign authors are getting a world wide audience now!

Money. In the case of Steig Larsson, there are very large amounts of it involved and (iirc) his common law wife hasn't got any of it and feels aggrieved because she held his hand and made suggestions when he was writing the original trilogy and his family, who had little connection with him, are pocketing the proceeds. Allegedly ....

There are also known to be most of a fourth novel and plot outlines for a fifth and sixth book, written by Larsson and in his girlfriend's possession but the book that is about to be published has no connection to them. I'm guessing that the girlfriend won't release any of the material in her possession unless and until she can reach some agreement about sharing the proceeds with Larsson's family. You can't really blame her: because they weren't married and because Larsson had no valid will, she has been shafted by Swedish inheritance laws.

(Edit: I'm not sure, in any event, that this is the kind of read that the OP is seeking :D)

I have just started The Land Girls by Annie Wilkinson, teen saw it at the hospital eye clinic, so I took it along to the nurse and gave then 50p. So far, the first few chapters have been really good, thumbs up :) :bookworm:

Hee hee!

Ooops - didn't mean to suggest she was an old person :eek:, but the fact that she said:

Mainly read easy reads like Lyn Andrews Sally Warboys. Freda Lightfoot. Rosie Goodwin. Maggie Hope. Don't like murders or detective stories or anything creepy

... led me to suppose that she might not be looking for a book featuring a punky, violent girl with OCD, who is subjected to various unpleasant and graphically described sexual ordeals by a very creepy bloke, upon whom she exacts a fairly gruesome revenge. Or is it just me? :D :D
