Getting second booster or skipping it?

My first booster made me feel absolutely awful and effected me for weeks. I got COVID 5 months later and I was sick but I was okay.

I'm newly diagnosed with type 1 and I'm weighing up my options, risking the next booster or giving it a skip.

Not asking for any medical advice, I simply would like to know how people have experienced their second boosters or how they are feeling about skipping it

I have to say. I wasn’t affected by the booster. Unlike a 24 hour feeling of useless I had with the first 2 jabs? (My gaffer was just thankful I showed up for work at the time.)

The next one.. is my personal choice booster wise, I wasn’t “bitten” so won’t be twice shy..
 
I have had two boosters, the second 3 weeks before a 5 week trip to visit friends and family in the UK. Both made me feel slightly under the weather for a day (similar to my annual flu shot).

I work on the principle that if the booster makes me feel bad the actual illness will be worse....

But I'm 60, have been T1 for 52 years and have other comorbidities....

Still haven't had covid....(crossing fingers and toes and touching every piece of wood I can find).

Edited to add: I'm in New Zealand and all my shots were Pfizer.

I've had 5 covid vaccines in total, first and second jabs I felt awful (Astra Zeneca), first booster (Pfizer) I was absolutely fine with no side effects except for the aching arm, second booster (Moderna) again I was fine, aching arm and a bit of what they called "covid arm". My 3rd booster was the newer version of Pfizer which also targets the omicron variants, probably matched how I felt with my first 2 jabs I had a massive headache, nausea, and an aching arm.

At the end of the day, it is personal preference and even though I felt awful with my third booster I'd still go and get another booster if it were available. I have also had covid and I felt much worse with that than I did with any of the vaccines.
 
Just had 4th jab yesterday, feel ok, maybe a little flu ish but it’s slight, painful arm, ive not had COVID so trying to not get it, fingers crossed

x3 Pfizer now x1 moderna no issues with any
 
I had my first and second jabs in March and May 2020, then a booster in December 2021. Two weeks after the booster, I got Covid for the first time. It was so mild I didn't know I had it for the first few days. I was actually out on New Year's Eve with Covid, which I only discovered after the fact (a great example of vaccine passports being 100% pointless).

I got the virus a second time in September this year and it was again very mild. That is to say, milder than most colds I get. I have had texts and emails telling me I am "more at risk of of Covid-19" so I need a booster. What does that mean grammatically? Am I more at risk of catching it or more at risk of it being bad when I catch it? Those things are not the same.
 
I had my booster on Tuesday afternoon, I felt horrific Tuesday night then just felt rough until yesterday evening but rubbish sleep didn't help. Felt fine from yesterday evening, so probably about 16 hours of feeling grim. With the last booster I had vomited but not this time, both were Pfizer.
I won't hesistate to get booked up if/when I'm next eligible.

Have you had Covid yet and if so what was it like?
 
I’ve had the initial jag then two boosters and that’s all , I’m having no more have had covid about a week after my last booster, the injections didn’t affect me at all , maybe I got the placebo
 
Just had my 2nd booster a day or so ago, whilst I could have put it off due to a cold (a minor one) I went through with it and slightly regret it now, but as others have said it can be worse with the real thing.
That being said i'm getting alot of the symptoms of the real thing: cold sweats, headaches, high temp, loss of taste and smell, aggressive cough / mucus buildup, and even pushing blood glucose up even when i've been stuck in bed unable to eat (not seen it in 20-30.0 mmol/l ranges since the years I had bad control)
 
I've run high before without those kinds of problems happening so i've always got my levels normalised, i have keto sticks on hand just in case.

Had to do 2 tests from different providers but both came back positive, so makes sense i've been feeling under the weather for the past few days, bg levels are stable so at least i'm in one spot (bedroom) so I can test whenever I need to. I feel somewhat better than the previous days but still can't taste or smell things as well.
 
Ok here goes I had my second booster and a flu jab last wendesday I had told them I had a cold and they said so long as no temperature your ok to have it even though I said I maybe should cancel it for now! arms hurt like nothing the next day and my cold was worse on last Friday I thought i best test for covid with a rapid flow test which turned out to be POSITIVE, haver now got covid yest had all my darn boosters this be day 4 and still full of cold and feeling terrible I am asking how long this lasts and do you think having the booster when I did has contributed to me feeling like death warmed up ???
 
Had 2nd booster last week. 3xPfizer, IxModerna. Slight sore arm for 24hours after booster, but a severe case of "brain fog" on day2. (Although I don't know whether that's the booster or because I'm a woman of a certain age) I did manage to catch it just after Christmas last year, but I've had much worse colds, which I put down to being fully vaccinated.
 
Moderna this morning - all my others were Pfizer. Sore arm and I felt shattered this afternoon but otherwise ok.

OH had positive covid tests for 10 days in Feb after we celebrated family birthdays with a 6yo who tested positive before going back to school after half term. He was really poorly with flu like symptoms. I never tested positive but had bad "hay fever" for 3-4 days so imagine I had a low dose.

My neighbour was hospitalised and ventilated during the first lock down so I'd rather a sore arm than take the risk.
