I do not have diabetes
Ive never introduced myself on this channel.

I am in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend who is diabetic, we've been together for 2 years and it has been difficult, i've been learning and supporting her with her diabetes, checking every single day at the same time if she took her long acting insulin.

Any of you in a long distance relationship with a diabetic partner?

Sorry I cant be of any assistance but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum and how awesome you are for caring enough for your GF to be looking fir ways to help her.

Yo, welcome to the forums B.o.D.

Does your GF actually need to be motivated to inject or are you just showing support?

@Boyfriend_of_Diabetic - Hello and Welcome to the Forum :). Has your Girlfriend thought about joining up? I do know of a Husband and Wife who are both members and only the one has Diabetes.

welcome :) It's nice you care for your gf. I'm sure she's doing well with her diabetes management. If she hasn't joined this forum, you could encourage her to join. I never had forums like this when I was first diagnosed. I lived without support from anyone other than my medical team for many years. It's doable. But I'm sure your gf would appreciate a place to share and read about experiences of others.

Welcome from me too.
There is support for you too here. We type 2s find support in type 2 life thread and other threads on here. We are lucky to have great camaraderie but a open house.
Feel free to jump in. You will always be welcome. Throw up your concerns.
Type 1s and their partners are welcome too, we don't bite.
We have a few misdiagnosed diabetics who first flourished in a different type's resting place. They always know where we are when they need us.
I hope you find that too. :)

Wow thanks everyone, this is my first time doing something like this, every is super friendly on here. I will try to get her on the forum, but her phone is broken so it's hard for us to contact each other, I will see her coming weekend and encourage her, because she doesn't really have a team or people she can go to for advice.

She's been diabetic for 12 years now, and turning 21, I am really proud of her for being so strong, I really look up to her. And ofcause I love her a lot

Welcome! She's lucky to have a boyfriend that cares so much! It is a wonderful community here, I'm sure you will find all the help you need.

It is very important to have a strong support system for diabetics.
Well done for being on her side. Being diabetic can be very challenging.
But it is diabetes, not something to define who we are even though we have it!
I am quite new here too and I have been benefited by so many wonderful information people shared with me in the forum.
And I am FOREVER glad I found this forum x
