Bringing in your own boiled eggs would work... (And be less expensive). You could also bring in some full fat greek yoghurt, maybe with some coconut shavings, (thawed by the time to get to work) berries, and/or a bit of nuts. Cheese roll-ups are easy too (cheese, butter, herbs, voilà), cold cuts or chicken (microwaveable?). Smoked salmon with avocado and cream cheese? I don't usually do breakfast. Just have tea in the morning, don't eat until somewhere between 11 and 3 or so, unless I just do one meal that day. (If I do one meal, it's dinner with the hubby). Find whatever works for you. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto/recipes/breakfasts/quick might have some stuff on offer...Good Afternoon,
Fairly new to the forums after being introduced by my wife through this thread help needed as the wife of someone with t2
Everything is still going well and I've not felt this good in years. Since last Thursday when I changed my diet completely I've been getting bacon, eggs and sausage etc from the works canteen. It's been ok but I don't want to be eating the same things daily whilst at work. And there is the expense as well !!!
I'm looking for ideas of food that I could take to work that would keep me on track and healthy.
I do have access to a microwave at work, although I'll probably have to give it a good clean before using it

If you're looking for a 'traditional' cereal and like granola, I recently discovered this little beauty at 5.9g carbs per 40g portion. Have it with unsweetened almond milk and you won't add any more carbs. If you're in the UK, it's stocked by Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
You're welcome. I'd just about given up on finding a reasonably low-carb breakfast cereal. They're all stuffed with carbs, even the so-called 'healthy' ones. I stumbled upon this one purely by chance and it's by far the lowest carb cereal I've seen so I had to shareI like the sound of that! Love it when people find alternatives and let everybody know. I'm off to Waitrose today so will look out for some, thank you. x
Its still 15% carbs though. Not something I'd want to consume. You're welcome. I'd just about given up on finding a reasonably low-carb breakfast cereal. Fair enough. I feel that 5.9g carbs per 40g portion is reasonable and it's way lower than any other comparable product. Ultimately it's a personal choice though. No-one's forcing it down anyone's neckIts still 15% carbs though. Not something I'd want to consume.

Absolutely KKHi Captain, don't feel you have to justify what you eat to anyone. Everybody can have their opinion of course but it's not their business, it's YOURS. x

Indeed. Diabetes is a personal journey for all of us. One size definitely doesn't fit all.I certainly wasn't saying don't eat it but many try to limit their intake to foods with a certain percentage of carbs (say 10% max) in which case this would be out.
As a carnivore I keep my carb intake a lot lower. As you say if it works for you then great.
That sounds goodI’m with @Captain Crunch on this one.I weigh out 20g of the cereal he mentioned, so rounded up, 3g carbs, then add some more almonds, chopped up, chia seed, plus some psyllium husk (for more fibre), along with a tablespoon or 2 of ground flaxseed, then I add almond milk and a splash of double cream. After a couple of mins, the ingredients thicken up like a pudding. Nice. Makes a good breakfast.
