Ummm......
That list seems a bit carbohydrate heavy to be diabetes friendly (T2, that is).
How about the old favourite eggs, bacon, mushroom tomato, 90%+ pork sausage.
Hmmm...
Ham and eggs
Cheese omellete
Scrambled eggs (hold the toast)
Lidl roll for those who like bread but not many carbohydrates.
Coffee with butter and double cream.
Personally I find that a big mug of coffee with butter and double cream sees me through to at least mid-day.
Mmmmmm Before adding these to your menu I suggest you buy a blood glucose meter and then try them. See what happens to your levels. They are all very high in carbohydrate, which will convert to glucose once inside the system. Also, breakfast time is the worst time of day to be eating carbs. Personally I only have coffee with cream or maybe a soft boiled egg (no soldiers). If I did eat breakfast it would be bacon, eggs, 97% meat sausage, tomato, mushrooms, or any egg dish. As we all react differently to foods, it is necessary to try then test, try again with smaller portions, or eliminate completely.
Thanks, forgot to mention that I don’t drink tea or coffee and don’t like cheese, ham, mushrooms!I know, I am such a fussy eater already. xx
You don’t have to eat ham, mushrooms or cheese. The idea is a very low carb bf works best for most type 2’s. Eggs anyway you like them, any meat rolled up with a sauce or something, left over meats from the night before, etcCan’t see that happening, although it would be great. It’s also a texture thing as well as taste I’m afraid. I could fill a page with the foods I dislike/hate so its going to be very interesting moving forward. xx
As has been said, it depends very much on how your brekky affects your readings and your chosen dietary regime. A Full English is the way to go for me but without the bread, hash browns, baked beans (in that sugary sauce) etc. Alternatively, I have a cheese and mushroom omelette or boiled eggs with a little Boursin dotted about. These are my personal choices that have, for me, neglible effects on my readings.
At first it is trial and error finding what works and what is acceptable for us as individuals. Good luck.
I struggle with breakfast. I never used to eat it. A full English is great but I just could not have that when I first get up - nor every day. I just do not have the time. My problem with breakfast is finding something I can take to work or knock up quickly - apart from all the eggs variations. Since being told I'm prediabetic I've never eaten so many eggs!
