Britain's Fat Fight

Probably just one who I admire and respect, Aneurin Bevan, without whom we probably wouldn’t have the NHS free at the point of use.
Absolutely agree. "In Place of Fear". The current crop of politicians are pretty dire.

If Boris Johnson pulls off a deal that pleases Iran in the present climate he may be able to redeem himself and get that poor woman out of jail whose future he compromised.
I didnt like Thatcher but she wasn't a cardboard cutout like the present lot.

I hope so, but I do fear it's unlikely. All gone quiet on that front unfortunately.

Yes!!!! I noticed but was dismayed that the GPs were trained to recommend that folk go to Slimming World/WeightWatchers to lose weight. It was great that they were given a method of talking about weight but as one of them pointed out they really don't know what advice to give that works.

JH says nowt. IDS makes a poor apology on his behalf. I feel the same way about IDS as you do about JH. It doesn't matter which party they belong to, in my opinion, they are not fit for purpose.
Just seen it on catch up. Jeremy Hunt and George Smith both an embarrassment. And the whole thing sponsored by Tate & Lyle. Good for the Public to see this.

Just caught up with the programme. All the Jeremy Hunt stuff was just the producers making a "drama" out of nothing. A government minister does give off the cuff interviews on camera especially to a chef. Normally producers would contact a minister's office and provide a list of questions so that civil servants can research the answers. I am not a fan of JH but this type of programme is too superficial to be taken seriously. I would like to see Panorama, or similar, interview Dr Malhotra and dig into who is behind the recommendations of Public Health England.

Not sure I agree. The programme seems to have made several approaches to Hunt's office with a request for interview. He just comes across as too frightened to be challenged out of the formal setting where he is more in control. Some aspects of the programme were useful, such as the man with type 2 diabetes; and we can't really expect too much in depth coverage of the issues in a programme like this.
An in depth programme discussing Dr Malhotra's would be great though. Absolutely.

Dr Malhotra in newspapers... he has been on sky news last couple days. He certainly is making a lot of noise now...
