*** is wrong with me? Currently eating the contents of the kitchen to get blood sugar to rise! Checked with a finger prick to see if it’s CGM (which I only put on yesterday) and it’s pretty much accurate! DON’T know what to do

Hi @Neckarski_94 sometimes it can take a while for the carbs to take effect and I totally feel your pain. What carbs are you eating though and how low are you?

I usually try to stave off a hypo with a small amount of something I like (eg an apple) but if I'm going seriously low I hit the glucose, just because it theoretically acts the fastest.

My scariest recent hypos have been combined with alcohol unfortunately, which never used to have much effect on me, but I suspect that the alcohol impairs my liver from helping out with glycogen....

Luckily my pump has reduced my number of serious hypos dramatically.

How are you doing now?

Virtual hugs, how I hate hypos.

Cold weather, angry people, queues,
My experience over 50 years of type 1 is that it just sometimes happens , coincidentally only last night I had my normal carbs and insulin but found my bs was dropping not rising as usual I got to 4.5 cgm alarm going off dextrose tablets , grapes , biscuits 3.4 and then it started to rise went to 5 I thought I've got it, 1 hour later alarm going off again dextrose tablets out again only to rise slowly before bed , I awoke this morning to an alarm of bs over 10 , it just seems to happen that way sometimes .

I had a sandwich last night and a couple boiled eggs. Blood sugar didn’t rise instead it started dropping so ate a couple bags of crisps thinking it would start rising (it didn’t) I got as low as 4.0 so not hypo level. But lower than I should have been. I then ate a couple of Belvita Breakfast biscuits and then my BS FINALLY started rising to as high as 16.6!
