BS readings

pre tea 8.6 post 10.9
not nery happy as all weekend my level have been highish

kimbo, no not doing it but am looking into it
Think you will really see a drop in levels when you start low carb ally- ask any questions you like and have a good read around here, it's where I learnt all I know now!

Although you haven't started a LCHF diet as such, from what you have posted, it seems you have probably reduced your carb intake a lot. You've made some good progress compared to where you were and s lot seems to have been diet change. You aren't that far off lower readings ally1. If you're worried about the high fat then take that element easy to begin with. You don't have to go overboard with the fat. My fat comes from nuts, fish, olive oil, cheese and full fat milk and greek yoghurt. I also have eggs. Fat constitutes between 60 and 70% of my diet and I stay within my calorie allowance.
If you enter your food into myfitnesspal it will work out the ratios for you. It might help you to see what your present diet consists of regarding carbs/fat/protein. You can make a more informed decision then and tweak as slowly or quickly as you feel comfortable with.
Well done so far ally1 :-)

@ally1 - From what I observe, you have reduced your carbs quite a bit, and achieved great progress. Remember all those back-to-back 20s, and some 30s? Those were scary days for all concerned.

I know it's tricky resisting crisps and all those other delicious treats, but it might help to really set yourself a target of going, say 7 days, perhaps your levels might settle a little lower. It seems you get them moving south, then have a cheeky packet of crisps or something that pulls them back up again.

I could be very wrong.

andbreathe you are so very right

6.9 Before Breakfast
6.9.After Breakfast

It felt very naughty this morning as I had berries and cream for breakfast... as I didn't have time to cook and I've not been shopping yet. Will be following Ally1 to the heathly options aisle on my way home from work.

Pre-Breakfast 5.9
Post-Breakfast 5.7
Breakfast was 20g of Mini Wheats, Almonds, Blueberries and whole milk. This is the second time that I've had these readings with this breakfast so it looks as though it's one that, as well as being quick and easy, I can tolerate so I'm pleased.

Good Girl, Ally.

I have willpower of iron, but I know I just couldn't have half a pack of crisps. They'd all be gone, in a millisecond, so I admire you being able to stop half way!

Pre breakfast 6.2 post 5.2

X3 rashers smokey bacon, x2 large field mushrooms roasted, half a Tin of tomatoes. Total 6g carbs :-)
