I have a chiropractic session with acupuncture every 8 weeks as maintenance. I missed the last one, don't I know it. Rebooked now. Have a TENS and tramadol when needed.

Ali
My poxy GP wont give me Tramadol as I am apparently too young....I am 20 years old!!! And I have friends younger than me on tramadol!! grrr!!

Like they said to me "seeing as you are so young, your options are injections and surgery"

I first went to the docs when I was in my teens over 40 years ago. He just remarked, "oh, so you've got one of those too have you?. It'll get worse as you get older"

He was right!

Everyone I have known who was troubled with a bad back tried everything and eventually only got it sorted with a surgeon's knife. All done privately though. I just put up with the episodes which are roughly one per year now as the prolapsed disc degenerates eventually and the vertebrae fuse togther naturally. It's taken me over 40 years whereas a surgeon would do it much more quickly, though the NHS waiting list might be quite long.

Good firm upright seating, bending knees, straight back etc, all that stuff, helps greatly. Avoid awkward twisting movements whilst bending. Don't reach and stretch, move your whole body forwards. Sometimes I think of having a beam installed in the house so I can hang upside down like a bat and take the pressure off.

Oh dear that isn't good! I have a feeling I would have to wait a bloody while *sigh*

Haha like the idea of being a bat though!! :joyful::joyful:
