Bulletproof coffee

Doesn't it mess with your Poopy'ness though? You need solids too..
If you over do the coconut oil, the results can be.... erm.... well.... let's just say, unpleasant!

I just don't like the taste of the coconut oil so I have "bullet resistant" coffee first thing - strong instant coffee (although it works just as well with real), a heaped (amazing how much you can get on) teaspoon of butter, stir together until the butter has melted then top up with a generous portion of double cream. Doesn't need blending or anything, just stirring.

Nice creamy drink, plenty of fat and keeps hunger at bay for ages.

No laxative effect either.
{Thinks - I wonder if a little coconut oil would be acceptable and help things along.}

mmm that sounds good I'l have to try butter next week when I'm finished fasting.

Thanks for asking this question, Ruth. I hadn't known what this coffee was either

Ha Ha! I also only drink decaff so not much use to me, eh?

I sometimes drink a poor (wo)mans pseudo bulletproof coffee - I use decaf and just add cream or almond milk and about a teaspoonful of (virgin) coconut oil. It can be a bit of an acquired taste, but it acts as an alternative breakfast and generally keeps me going (ermm not as in on the loo though!!) till lunch time.

I also use coconut oil whizzed in with my soup or with a stock cube (just stirred in - no fancy blending) as a drink sometimes too.

Robbity

I drink it at weekends. I brew a small cafetiere of good coffee, plonk a tablespoon of butter (unsalted or slightly salted) and a tablespoon of coconut oil into a jug, pour the brewed coffee over the fats and whizz it up with a hand blender until the fats are all mixed in and you get a bit of a froth on top. I love it!
