I'm sure there's more.
If my fasting reading is in the high fives or more I have a bullet proof coffee for breakfast or egg or cheese.
If it's five and below I have porridge.
Eating to my meter from the start of the day.
Hi JACKTHELAD,
I wonder if you'd be good enough to tell me how you make your bulletproof coffee. What brands etc do you use & what recipe do you follow? I've been reading a lot about them & as I tend to have higher fasting BG, I'd like to see if having a BPC helps me gain better control. It's got to be worth a try. When I've looked at recipes online, it's been via the Bulletproof website, which sells the ingredients. However, they're very expensive. I'm hoping there's a cheaper but equally as effective list of ingredients. Thanks.
Alison.
Alison ... dead cheap me.
Nescaffe instant coffee made the normal way with a tablespoon of unsalted best quality butter thrown in.
Just a good name brand of butter preferably grass fed and no salt.
You might like the salt I don't in coffee.
I mix it in and re heat it in the micro as the butter tendd to cool it down to much for my asbestos mouth kind of taste.
I sometimes add coconut oil as well.
Be prepared for .... no urges to eat for anything up to eight or nine hours ... not everytime but often.
Also the mental stimulation I find almost illegal and have considered selling it on dodgy street corners!
Give it a go and best of luck.
Yes we are all mad here Numan but what does that have to do with the price of sugar?are you all mad...butter in your coffee? what is this witchcraft you talk of

daft question but why not just use cream?I just use normal coffee when I have it with butter and coconut and find it blends better if it's 'whisked' with a stick blender in a bigger jug.
thanks Catherine, was worth a readThree reasons why bulletproof coffee can be a bad idea for some.

that's what i usually use, but I have no issue with the bulletproof 'fat bomb' coffee. I see it's mainly for maintaining weight. it's not easy getting enough fats.daft question but why not just use cream?
It didn't suit me, alasThree reasons why bulletproof coffee can be a bad idea for some.

If I use cream, I need to inject, even for the very small amount of Carbs and Protein. A bulletproof coffee tastes quite delicious, and doesn't require an injection (no Carbs, negligible Protein). Each to their own, of course, but the Bulletproof coffee is a winner for me.
Been to Tezzas & bought my bulletproof coffee ingredients. So, gonna give it a whirl for breakfast tomorrow & see how I like it. I've got pure Stevia & top notch vanilla extract for sweetness, as I would usually have brown sugar in a coffee. If I'm still buzzing at midnight I'll vacumn through the house whilst singing karma chameleon & running my pledge fluffy duster over the furniture. Who says I can't multitask!

Kerrygold butter, Lucy Bee coconut oilwhat brand of butter and oil do you good people use?
Possibly I'm poking my nose in where it's not wanted (apologies if so) . . . but if you are trying out a new style with your coffees, might this not be a chance to try it without the sweetness altogether? To me, the taste of the Bulletproof coffee was a revelation, very smooth and very creamy (ironically much more "creamy" tasting than using cream). Might it be worth trying it without the sweetener first time, just to see how your taste buds like it? If it gets a positive then this can only be a good thing.
