People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.
I don't have the Glycaemic index rating of this Bread to hand.

However if you do, all you need to do to find the Glycaemic Load of ANY food is to take the GI value,
x number of grams carbs per serving then divide by 100 = Glycaemic Load.

Eat and enjoy downsince84, this is the only bread I can eat and tolerate with regards to bg's, it is also a good source of dietary fibre. I enjoy my Burgen toasted with marmite spread over, and is especially nice with a boiled egg! :D

It does go very well with Marmite and Marmite is low cal and fat. A winning combination. Off topic I know but I can't wait to try the new xo marmite!

Me too Dippy, but my wife says that it is £3.99 a jar! I think that I'll have to wait for the next lottery win! :(

Well, I won £10 on Saturday night, so I'm going to lash out on one. I know, it's just spend, spend, spend!
I shall report back!

That's strange. I also won £10 last Saturday, and the Saturday before that! :D

As it is a rollover this week, I am going to chance my luck and try and win the jackpot, but I am sure I'd be better off with a jar of marmite!

Great news lovinglife, far better for them than that horrible white bread that some bakeries churn out! :)

Burgen is my saviour  I eat two slices every day as a sandwich and never have high BG afterwards , pity its so expensive although some of the larger supermarkets have it on offer for £1 per loaf at times

At the moment in my local shop it £1.33 a loaf but must say worth every penny taste great!!!!!!!

If you have a Iceland store nearby, you'll be glad to hear that they sell 2 loafs of Burgen for £2. I always stock up when I pass by and buy 6 loafs at a time. Its the best buy as far as I'm concerned! :D

I've just bought a loaf of this from Sainsburys. VERY low GI, and low carb per slice, but really tasty!
