People in here have their own preferences for Blood Glucose ranges it depends upon what is actually possible for you and what you feel comfortable with. In general Type 2's like them to be a little lower than do Type 1's because Insulin usage always carries the risk of a dangerous hypo- so it is safer for a Type 1 to have their BGL a little higher.

That said the main thing to aim for is to keep the range between around 4.0 mmol to 8.0 mmol and as flat as possible plus to avoid spikes of more than 2.0 mmol between a pre meal reading and one 2hrs after first bite of that meal.

I hope that helps.

I would say between 4-8mmol. I zap the sensor (I use a Libre freestyle) when I first start to eat and then set the reader to remind me 1 hr and 2 hrs after noshing. I use MyFitnessPal to keep a food, water and notes diary of everything, and also handy to track exercise. That way you can build up a picture of what causes your BG to rise, what effect eating other foods/changing your diet has and eventually you will get a feel for it.
