Thanks rachox. I do have 2 meters, got an easy life one too which came with cholestrol tester but havent opened it yet! I might just do that and go for a hat trick. I will be spoilt for choice!!!
I have been buying mine for around £10 for 50 which i now know is daylight robbery!!!
Just a note of caution: the standards for BG meters are +/-15%. This can lead to a wide variation.
Thanks for this info. I really like this meter but it's going to work out much more expensive in the lobg run (and I'm focused on it being a marathon not a race!). So the cheaper option is looking good but I have noted your comments. Thank you so much. Everyone is so helpful here. I really do feel part of the community.
Helen, that is so true. I ended up with 3 different meters (one I bought myself pre diagnosis, one the Dr gave me and one the hospital gave me, all different makes). Whenever one showed low (say 3.2) I'd test with the other two which respectively showed anything between 2.8 and 4.1). They were all 'good' makes too. Funnily, no one of them was always showing the lowest or highest reading either, ie there was no real correlation between one always showing lower.
