C peptide testing

Had urine c pep test 3 weeks ago also anti gad blood tests at the same time.I understand these go to exeter for analasis but how long did you wait for result if you also had this please

I believe it's about two to three weeks, but check with your surgery.
Mine was after two weeks, before diagnosis, but that was 5 years ago!

thanks for that .hospital endo did mine and getting through is difficult but at least i have an idea now so it should be soon

Mine took about 4 weeks to come back. They were taken in December2018 and came back late January 2019 :)
 
month is a long time when waiting .I thought the mody test was part of c peptide so maybe i have another test/wait to come .I have been on insulin for a decade so that skews the results a lot .Anti gad test also had t?8 and another squiggle as well so i dont know what they were for .thanks sb
 
MODY is a separate test, which I actually had done this week... and so another wait begins..... :)

yes, so far I have had C peptide (which was low), GAD antibodies (which were negative) and now onto the MODY testing.

all of these were done by blood tests.

I still do not have a 'type' of diagnosis, but the C peptide I confirmed I produce very little of my own insulin.

I have since been put on long acting and quick acting insulin :)
