G'day

Anyone know what a C-peptide 551 means. Blood sugar was 4.1 or lower when blood test was done.

For some reason the diabetic nurses like to mess me around at the hospital, so I discharged myself. Especially as one said I can't be type 2 because I'm slim yet three different GP's think it is likey I'm type 2. Everyone in my family is type 2 and got around 40, same as myself.

Also I have a triat which messes up my 3 month blood readings, which came back as 12.6. But the nurse at my GP, said that was meaningless because of the triat.

My averages since being off insulin for the last 6 weeks is about 6.3 going off my meter readings.

Just got told it was within the normal range.

GAD antibodies came back negative as well.

So i'm type 2.

Hi - did you find out how your 550 result relates to the normal range figures? My result came back this afternoon at 2205 - given over the phone by the receptionist, who couldn't tell me what the units were but with a note from the doctor which just said 'unknown'. I can't contact my DSN until Monday, so can anyone suggest what it means in the meantime? Thanks.
