Calling all pumpers!

Fab idea! Stitch a baby sock to the back of my sports bra........cheap and cheerful :lol: Thanks Jopar :D Now all I need is a handy baby to pinch a sock from :wink: (have even thought about raiding my daughters keep sake box for an old odd sock from when she was tiny!! no, no, can't do that........trip to Mothercare in order perhaps.......:wink:)
 
I tried all the different options that came with my pump (accu check spirit) but found non to be suitable long term.

I favour the slip it in the top of my bra method which has been successful for ages now! I haven't found the need to buy anything specialised or adapt any clothing to suit.

At night I simply have it by my side on the bed. No disconnection accidents as yet.

Roo.be, does it cause an obvious lump in your bra? or do you slot it in between your boobs?! My pump is a Roche Accu Chek combo and it's too big to just slot?!
 
the combo does fit between boobs with a bit of juggling, however i did find out today that it does depend on the bra. horace made an escape bid whilst i was at work, no harm done just a pump dangling from its tubing!! Still it prove that the insertion tape works well, didn't pull at all.

I think the Accu-chek spirit and the combi are the same size , as the combi is an up-graded version...

Just tried the bra trick... And had to pick hubby up from the floor, and now have to wash his work cloths for tomorrow morning :?

He found it extremely funny :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: I assume from my little experiment, that one requires a reasonable clevege to carry off the feat, one that I don't have :oops: :oops:
 
it's in!!! I now know why God gave us girls boobs :D Just hoik one of 'em up and slide the pump under it and Robert is indeed, your mother's brother!! I love it so much I can't even tell you :wink: I also now know why they recommend wired bra's only, stops it slipping out the bottom (so to speak :wink: )
 
Good news Debloubed!

Over the last day or so, I've been wearing my on belt in a nice little pager style holster the nurse gave me.

This is ever so handy, the gadget slips out easily when I need to get at it. Its better than the lycra type case where I found the windows didn't line up properly to the pump and it was awkward to release and put back.

The problem is still all the tubing. I made a mistake and put the pump on the other side of to where the line is connected and the tube got in the way when I was standing to do what women need to sit for as they say.

Luckily its a different colour so I wasn't too confused :lol:

Still seeking a better way of carrying it around. At least with the combo I can use the meter to interrogate it and make it do things.

thanks for your messages guys/gals, good night last night, did a 3am BG which was 6.5 and waking BG was 6.5 also - love it! Last night, I tucked the pump into a tiny soft mobile phone case I got in Tesco in a sale (cost £0.50!) and it was perfect, I lay on top of it and couldn't even feel it, never mind the actual infusion set - genius! :lol: it's in my bra again today inside the sock again as it makes it even softer and more comfortable :D

Hi,

I just clip on to the center of my bra.....during day and night! I know its safe and i know where it is! Only downer to this is always having to buy new bra's :)
 
I very rarely use the clip, only when there are no pockets or a belt. I find it causes the tube to poke into my side from time to time when to bend sideways. I always use the belt wrap or even just put it under the elastic of shorts etc.

I don’t even bother clipping it on in bed, it just sits there next to me without problems for me or my partner.
 
My Paradigm Veo pump came with a plastic clip device and a litle leather pouch with see-through front and a belt clip on the back. Both are fine but I prefer the simple clip for attaching the pump to my belt or waistband of jeans/trousers/skirts. With a dress, I usually clip it to the centre of my bra - though this can be a bit too entertaining for other diners if you're eating out and need to bolus!!

Like Marilyn, my preferred night attire is Chanel No 5, so there's nowhere to clip it. My plan is to make a soft lacy 'belt' with a little pocket for it.

On our last scuba holiday, I just wore it clipped on the outside of my swimsuit between dives. (God bless the inventor of the tankini - so much easier for disconnecting and reattaching in public!) Of the questions asked by other divers on the boat, my favourite was "Do you have special waterproof earplugs to go with that?" I was a bit puzzled until he explained that he thought it was an underwater ipod :wink:
 
I slip the pump in my pocket.
Of a night, i lay it by my side.
Never had a problem until a couple of nights ago when i had a hypo and pulled the needle out of my thigh so now slide it into my boxers.
 
I wear mine on my belt underneath my shirt so it's not visible, tuck the tubing inside trousers.

I just lock the pump and leave it loose when sleeping and it tends to behave, sometimes my wife ends up lying on it but it's never tried to escape the bed or anything like that. It’s well trained :D
 
Hi All

At night cliped to the middle of boxer shorts, as never sleep on front on only on back or sides. During the day clipped to trousers.
Does any one canoe/kayak or spend occastional time in water with there pump (when canoeng could be all day and end up getting wet and staying in a wet/damp wet suit for 5 hours), I have seen a water proof case in the uk, but does lower flow rate on lower units per hour around about 2u/h.

Pumping with Accu chek combo since Feb 2010.

wow, lots of variation! I have found that slotting the pump into a soft mobile phone case and then slotting it in my bra (under my boob!) is working really well so far, as I have the combo I have the remote control so no fiddling around required at meal/snack times and no flashing either as I can bolus from the remote! at night, it sits in it's soft mobile phone cover and follows me around the bed, if OH finds it he picks it up and deposits it on 'my' side :wink: :lol:

Sorry, I lost track of the thread a while but no, I have no unsightly lumps or bumps. I make the exception if I'm wearing something low cut, very strappy or strapless and use the elastic belt or a thigh strap depending on the outfit.

I'm not sure about the between the boobs approach as a proper fitting bra would negate this option surely!

I have a friend with the combi set up who also uses her bra. She seems to somehow tuck it underneath though. I haven't quite figured that out!!

maybe boob size is a factor?

I presume by now you have the pump and have found your best way to wear it. I'd be keen to know how you're getting on?
