Looking advice, my type 2 is quite off the scale, dont see the dietician for another month. Does anyone know the calorific content goals for me? Im 5 foot 6 inches, 170 lbs and would describe myself as being big boned. PLEASE advise

Hi, colleague Type 2. Sorry, don't do calories. Just carbs (low-ish) and fat (quite a lot). Who suggested you count calories?

Cant get glucose levels below 14ish, up to 26 at one point. Hba1c was 76? My meter is glucomen xl. What is pre and post prandial??? I have installed an app that asks for a goal range for carbs, fat, sugar etc

Unfortunately there's no one-size-fits all answer to your question. Like others have said above I don't count calories or carbs. I just completely avoid sugar, grains, starchy veg, rice, and tropical fruit. I eat lots of eggs, fresh veg and meat (beef, poultry, some fish). Limited amounts of cheese, full fat yoghurt, nuts, 85% chocolate and berries.

while I was trying to get my BG down..
the only carbs I got was from leafy salad and non starch veg..cut potato and corn..other than that if I know it has carbs,,I didn't eat it

if I want something to tell me exactly what to do..atkins induction diet..food list and recipes and meal plans free online
https://www.google.com.au/#q=atkins+induction

after a month going very low carb removes the food being the cause of high BG..my BG will settle..Dr can then decide whether more or less meds are needed.
the wake up reading should be the highest I see all day..the before meal and 2hr after meal shouldn't rise more than 2 mm and most of the time my after meal was lower than my before..the less the better.

I saw low numbers in the afternoon within a fortnight..my mornings were still high

Hi. I would say to forget calories and think carbs as they are the cause of both high blood sugar and much of the weight gain. Set yourself a daily carb limit of, say 150gm or a lot less. Use the meter and scales to see how you are doing. BTW, beware dieticians as many haven't a clue about diabetes or the causes of weight gain. Don't worry about fat or protein despite what we have all been told.
