Calpol

Hi - please can someone help me - I'm a mum of a newly diagnosed Type 1 aged 11 - she's got a cough/cold/temperature and I'm not sure if I can give her sugar free calpol - the diabetic team at our hospital are not answering and I just want to be sure.

Hi Rufus.
Sugar free should be fine for your daughter providing she is not taking any other medication which might interact with the OTC drug, and/or is not allergic to Paracetamol ?

You can make absolutely sure by phoning your local Pharmacist and asking for advice. Probably easier to get in touch with than your busy Diabetic team.
