Does anyone have suggestions for treats/snacks in the car? Going camping in France in Aug and will need snacks for the drive...

Are we talking low carbs for just snacks or higher for staving off hypo?
Veg sticks, Apples, cereal bars, cheese, sandwiches?
So you want them to last all holiday or just the trip out?

Low carb to help get from point a to b.

How about:
Babybel cheese - nicely "packaged" and consistent amounts (although carb-free)
Pre-cooked bacon strips - most of the big supermarkets do them, plus M&S. Yummmmmmy!
Cooked chipolata sausages (someone will have an idea for a dippy thing, like salsa, tzatziki or raita)
Small packets of nuts < my personal emergency, in my handbag snack
Small packs of sunflower seeds
Any of the low carb cookies. For example:

And have a look here: http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2014/05/13/low-carb-kids/ If you scroll down, there are oodles of lunchbox and snack ideas, and the recipes are usually carb-counted.

The site author also has a whole section on sweets, so things like fat bombs, another on icecream, and so on.

I subscribe to her site and get some great ideas.

I hope you all have a great trip

Ask Dr Google to search "low carb snacks on the go" - there are pages of sites/ideas. Not all will be appropriate, obviously.

Also camping in France this year so a 10 hour drive ...! Today I made a crustless bacon and cheese quiche from http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/recipes/ - super easy, I will make some the day before to avoid the super lovely quiches from the French service stations.

Great ideas from @AndBreathe too!

I'm doing the same first week in August, I had worried about how I'll manage to eat well once I'm there, hadn't thought about travelling. - I'm thinking Beef jerky, Babybels are a great idea (Praise be for the baby cheeses), nuts, mini pepperamis, those horribe/delicious chicken bits from Mattesons, pork scratchings (not all of these at once).

What kind of thing would you usually have packed for you daughter (if there was no diabetes), I have a suspicion that pork scratchings won't appeal much to a 9 year old girl (I dunno, she might be into it) so maybe if you could say what she would normally have had someone could help come up with lower carb alternatives.

Are you aiming for low carb to avoid injecting in a moving car? It is definitely fine to inject in a moving car, but I can see why you would prefer to avoid insulin stacking on the road with a child.

I think I was told while honeymooning that it was fine not to inject for a snack so long as it was less than 15g of carbs. I probably wouldn't get away with that now & im not sure if you would have been given similar advice, but , if so, 15g of carbs will be more than contained in most sensible small snacks, you might find you don't have to change anything?

Also, if you are stocking up on low carb snacks, don't forget a little stash of vaguely pleasant hypo treatments!
