Hi all.
I've been trawling the net for a campsite near Swansea. As usual, it's not as easy as it's supposed to be.
Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm taking two of my grandchildren and don't particularly fancy amusement parks and dodgy climbing frames.

TIA

Hill End in the Gower is lovely. A lot of surfers because of the beach, but families too. The beach is incredible. Not much else except the sea, the dunes and nature.

Oh matron! ... I see LOL .. I expected to find someone from Wales camping it up

Hi Wiflib

I am from the Swansea area but have never done any camping, but when I am in work on Wednesday I will ask some colleagues who are into that sort of thing and come back and let you know :)

They dont have any sites in or around Swansea but I have heard great things about this outfit, proper camping on real working farms that allow real fires but with all mod cons, well almost.

I agree with pizak: it's been a while since I was out there (years if I'm honest) but unless it has changed dramatically, the Gower Peninsular has some wild and scenic areas.

Oh Sid, how I'd love to be able to afford something like that! As it is, I'd be struggling to cough up the £12-18 per night that some of them are charging. The food bill is huge because all that running around induces a mighty huge appetite in my skinny 7 year old granddaughter and the thin three year old eats like a teenage boy.
I've seen a few, some of them far to big, some too 'chavvy' and others quite expensive. I've even found one with no toilets and no water! They are simply hiring out a bit of field.

I think I will load up the car and take a chance. I love a challenge.
