Can’t seem to inject my son without panicking please help!

I was diagnosed at 7, I wasn't let out of the hospital without being able to inject myself (I vividly remember the room just off the ward where I was first presented with syringes - to be used at least twice - and some vials of insulin and had a first "stab" at it.)

I was diagnosed at 8 and was very proud that I managed to inject myself without even practising on an orange. (Maybe they had run out?). However a few months after going home I remember my mum had to give me injections for a while because I just felt like I couldn't cope any more. It was easy for her as she was already a T1. So I can relate to sudden feelings of inability as regards injections. All I can say is that they passed.
