For a few days now my sugar levels have been high and I am starting to get worried and down about having diabetes.
Can anyone tell me if sometimes some insulins dont work for some people, because I feel like my novorapid is not working at all as I am running constant high readings.

Hi there, obviously I would speak to your doctor/specialist if it continues but sometimes I get a little high if my body is fighting a cold etc off and it normally clears in a few days. :) Maybe do a little extra excercise to get your system to speed up too :)

Yeah I am doing more exercise then I usually do,just finished my period, spoke to my nurse explained to her but she decided to take less long acting insulin has not helped at all.
I dont feel like I am getting a cold or anything at the moment.
Just very confused nothing is different but getting high reading my fasting reading are fine bt as soon as i have breakfast then thats the end of single numbers. :(

Hi Africandoll.

Your periods can send your Bg numbers haywire so this could be one cause, however I would be interested to know what exactly you had for breakfast ?

hya if you can tell us what insulin/food u take daily we may be able to see something you cant :D

I am on Novorapid and Glargine
Today I went to my diabetic nurse and she told me to take more glargine if my test is more then 15 before bed and to also raise ratio to 1.5 to every 10cp for breakfast and keep the rest to 1 to every 10cp.

Most morning I would have toast with a cup of tea or cornflakes and from time to time eggs and if my sugar levels are good I would have beans on toast.

I am praying that this will sort things out and I shall keep everyone informed as someone else might find this of some help.

Yeah I know that at first thats what I thought was causing it but even when I had finished it was getting worse then when I was on it.
New insulin, carb counting, keeping a diary of the foods I eat its all I bit much maybe its stress on top of everything else. When I used to me on my human mixtard I always knw what was happening with my body a little change and I could put my finger on it but now I guess its a whole new roller coaster ride that I have to take the driving seat. :P
