Hi guys;

I would be very grateful if someone can clarify whether I am able to carry work related passengers in my own car for work related activities?

Basically, I'm a support worker for young adults who have learning and physical disabilities and part of my job involves supporting one individual at a workshop near to where he lives but I have to use my own vehicle to take him too and from the workshop and I wondered if this was legal?

Also, on occasion I have to drive the works vehicle to a number of locations with at times up to 5 service users onboard and again I wondered if this was legal as it is not a mini bus but a MPV.

I have notified my company that I am insulin dependent but I'm concerned that I may very well be in breach of licence conditions.

I would be very grateful for any help or advice ..

Many thanks

Chris

Check with your insurance company @crazychris Ive driven other adults and children round as part of my job and had no problems, but I did speak to my insurance company first to make sure I was insured for these circumstances.

Thanks @azure I will do... I'm also concerned about dvla ..

As long as you've filled in the correct form for the DVLA and your licence is in order, I'd think that would be ok.

If you're going to be driving a work vehicle, make sure their insurance covers you as a driver with a medical condition.
