Can I do LCHF with 85% fat without getting FAT

@Jillyp83 As a T1 on Insulin, you can lose weight eating a similar macronutrient breakdown to @Pasha . I'm sure his experience will help you, but with me, at 60g carbs per day, 200g of protein and the rest from fats, I managed to lose 8 or so kg, so I am convinced you won't have issues.

Thats great, do you keep steadily losing? I am wanting to lose a good 3 stone and I am upping my exercise too.

Thanks Pasha, I am type 1 on an insulin pump. I am looking to lose weight and reduce bloods. I lost 8lbs in a week so hoping the weight loss keeps up but any details of your experience would be great. I hate not knowing if I am doing the rights things or not.

Thanks a mill :)

This is what I ate daily during my experiment , just the type of protein was altered from time to time for variety.

Breakfast,

1 poached egg
100 grams of steamed spinach
36 grams ground flax seeds + boiling water to make a slurry. Needs tarting up with salt or Tabasco sauce to give it more taste.
Big cup of black coffee with cardamon

Lunch,

Protein 24 grams so in this case ca 96 grams of broiled beef.
40 grams tomatoe
100 grams celery
100 grams Arab lettuce [ Rumaine lettuce]
50 grams button mushrooms
50 grams avocado
37 grams extra virgin olive oil.
36 grams olives with stones inside....on the side
28 grams pecorino cheese......on the side

Early evening meal,

14 grams of roasted almonds
28 grams of pecan nuts
about 20 30 mins after eating this I feel pretty full, its a fat bomb.

then about one half hour later,

150 grams steamed lettuce
13 grams finely chopped pecorino cheese
25 grams of extra virgin olive oil

As you will see there are no snacks between meals, no need for them because of the high fat content of the meals.

Macro nutrients ,

14 grams of carbohydrates, 56 grams of proteins, 176 grams of fats. total energy,1866 calories

% carbohydrates by energy = 14x4=56 cals
% protein.................................= 56x4 = 224 cals
% fats........................................= 176x9= 1584 cals
Total 1864 calories.

So % calories from carbohydrates = 3%
%.........................proteins = 12%
% ...........................Fats = 85%

Hope that this helps illustrate to you what you asked.

I am sure some of the type 1 folks can give you some of their excellent advice.

FYI I lost ca 45 kg , but it took me quite a while to do so.
