Hi everyone. I’m 35 years old. Recently I’ve been having headaches, I’m tired more than usual, have extreme hunger, for example an hour after a meal I’m hungry again. I have dry mouth and been experiencing dizzy spells. I also noticed that I wasn’t relying on my glasses as much as I have over the years. I put the headaches does to my glasses being too strong for me. I made an appointment with my optician, she checked my eyes and said there has been a considerable improvement to which I replied great, that’s good and she told me it isn’t and it’s rare for someone’s sight to improve and that it could be an indication of diabetes/prediabetes. She also told me my short sight had changed which I did notice while reading and doing anything with my hands. It was never an issue before. Anyway she wrote a letter to my doctor and told me she couldn’t change my prescription until she had a letter stating my blood sugar was normal. I bought myself a blood sugar monitor so I can record over the weekend and show these to my doctor on Monday. This morning when I woke up I had a reading of 6.6 I ate 2 slices of toast and had a cup of coffee, no milk. 2 hours after this my blood sugar was 10.6. Can anyone advice me if this is good or bad or if it’s a wake up call for me to watch what I eat. Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading.
