Hi everyone. I’m 35 years old. Recently I’ve been having headaches, I’m tired more than usual, have extreme hunger, for example an hour after a meal I’m hungry again. I have dry mouth and been experiencing dizzy spells. I also noticed that I wasn’t relying on my glasses as much as I have over the years. I put the headaches does to my glasses being too strong for me. I made an appointment with my optician, she checked my eyes and said there has been a considerable improvement to which I replied great, that’s good and she told me it isn’t and it’s rare for someone’s sight to improve and that it could be an indication of diabetes/prediabetes. She also told me my short sight had changed which I did notice while reading and doing anything with my hands. It was never an issue before. Anyway she wrote a letter to my doctor and told me she couldn’t change my prescription until she had a letter stating my blood sugar was normal. I bought myself a blood sugar monitor so I can record over the weekend and show these to my doctor on Monday. This morning when I woke up I had a reading of 6.6 I ate 2 slices of toast and had a cup of coffee, no milk. 2 hours after this my blood sugar was 10.6. Can anyone advice me if this is good or bad or if it’s a wake up call for me to watch what I eat. Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading.

Your symptoms and your blood sugar readings indicate you have made the right choice getting checked out by your GP, we cannot however diagnose here.
Here is a link to info on blood sugar levels:

If it does turn out you have diabetes or pre diabetes, you’ve come to the right place for info and support. Let us know how you get on.

changing your diet now, going for lower carb options, swapping high starch and sugary foods for lower ones, cutting down portion sizes, could make a significant difference to the rest of your life.
Had I had GPs supportive of a low carb way of eating I'd not have ended up almost spherical and type two, and had a lot more steak and mushroom breakfasts before very Tiggerish sorts of days.
