I’m not sure your dr understood either, unless they meant complications from diabetesThat makes complete sense thanks.
When I was diagnosed my dr talked about reversal and basically said if I got it, then I would then be at no more risk of developing diabetes again than a normal person.
I never understood that,
Your explanation here makes complete sense.
im hoping if I do get good numbers I can introduce some more carbs into the diet so not as restrictive as I am now or have been.
After the porridge this morning and how I felt being that high I don’t think I’d want to. I do want to be less strict because being out and about would be easier. As for today, my body is going to have to go back to it’s keto diet whether it wants to or not.I’m not sure your dr understood either, unless they meant complications from diabetes
We all hope we can increase carbs later, initially. Some manage a modest increase. If we go back to “normal” then most of us will get all the signs and symptoms again, especially likely the longer we maintain the increase for.
I guess if our personal case had nothing to do with genetics (most theories believe this is part of it) and no permanent changes (eg to beta cells where first phase response remains blunted in many cases even after remission) and is due to weight gain alone for example and we lost weight then it might be a cure so long as we didn’t regain the weight. But as no one can be certain of the specific causes for each type 2 or or the precise mechanisms damaged permanently or temporarily the best we can do is summarise the theories.
Any change has to fit what you are comfortable with, what you are trying to achieve and food preferences. The first question I would ask, is why are you fasting. If it is for fat loss, then I would consider replacements in the tea to maybe herbal tea or black coffee, to shave an advantage, I would keep in soup, as you gotta live and enjoy food, or reduce down further through additional cooking. I would track protein intake a few times to see if you are near a a gram per pound of body weight, many consume less than they think. Thanks
How do I replace cream in a soup or tea? Can’t have the protein in the morning if I’m fasting (hence the cream). The chicken soup has chicken and bacon so bucket loads of protein and the cream is to thicken. I have loads of protein at the moment on this strict keto.
pother than this thing this week I don’t usually have a problem, the biggest issue is the acid reflux.

Here's a fairly accurate summary of what I do, rather than rambling on. You might be able to get some ideas from this, or alternatively know this style isn't for you:

Thanks, I got optimised a while back and forgot exactly what I had done. Ever since then I have pictured 99.9% of the meals I eat to also correlate to blood tests, and for a project I am working on.Great piccies!
I am fancying food and I’m hungry, just not necessarily my good food, plus I’mThere's absolutely no reason to eat anything at all. A 24 hour fast is perfectly ok, or even longer as long as you keep drinking lots of water and take extra salt.
A break from food not only gives your digestive system time to get rid of whatever bug it is, but also gives your insulin and bg chance to recover.
If your body isn't fancying food, don't force fed it, listen to it
