Can you have healthy teeth with years of uncontrolled diabetes?

My coworker just started taking care of her Type 2 diabetes after 15 years but her teeth are fine after her last dentist visit. First one in 3 years. Is that possible?

Sorry, I don't quite understand. If her dentist says her teeth are fine then it's obviously possible? Why would you think it isn't? I'm curious..

Yes, it is possible - if she really looks after her teeth & gums. The diabetes doesn't actually CAUSE decay or gum disease it just makes you more susceptible to problems. So a small amount of plaque in a non- diabetic might be tolerated but in a diabetic might cause problems.

I've posted this before.
I've always cleaned my teeth at least once a day, and had plaque all the time, especially even more so when in hypo hell!
Since very low carbing my plaque has disappeared and my teeth, what's left of them are fine! My gums are healthy too!
