Can't decide between Tee2+ or Gluco Navii Meters

Hi all,
Just an update after my first diabetes related appointment. Spoke to the practice nurse today (No diabetes specialist nurse available at my GP) She was supportive of low carb eating to tackle my type 2 and got my GP to prescribe me the slow release Metformin instead of the standard stuff I was on in order to hopefully stop the unpleasant gastric symptoms i've been experiencing. She tested my urine and today there were no ketones present. Yay! She confirmed as members have already said, that my NHS trust will not provide me with a glucose meter on prescription nor access to testing strips as in their opinion T2's do not need to test! Only T1's! I have tonight therefore been doing more research on which meter to buy. I've looked as best I can at the pro's and cons of both meters suggested here but still cant make my mind up. I'm leaning towards the Tee2+ as you can use it in combination with an app to store your data on a phone which it appears the Gluco Navii needs to be used with a windows compatible operating system and I use a Chrome book. Are any members currently using either of these meters and have an opinion to help me choose which one?

Go for the blue tooth T2 either for the Android or Crapple, much more user friendly than Windows

I'm the type that just needs a thermometer to tell me my temp now

Navii will store historical data.
So I can see recent, last 7 days and monthly averages

Be nice to have the tracking on an app without making my own note of it, but that all blends into the cost etc.

I used mysugr app at one point, which given enough BG TESTS will predict your current HBA1c.

Mine was close enough to official report, I was happy with its accuracy.

And you'll hear about accuracy, but all meters sold are all 'out" by various amounts, regardless due to build etc.

I'm only testing me
And I only need that base line to show how well managed my BG is from each test I do

T2 gets good recommendation, I have never used myself.

I liked the running costs of navii
Only needs a small speck of blood to operate
Rare to have any 'Error' messages.

Home health support when needed has been god
 
I use a Tee2 (when I’m not using the Libre) but am thinking of switching to the Navii because the strips are significantly cheaper than the Tee2 strips if you buy them using the discount codes. I’ve never bothered with apps, aside from a brief dalliance with mysugr which convinced me it was unnecessary.

Really depends on your own priorities.

I changed from Bayer Contour Next to Navii, did a bunch of side by sides, twice, really nothing different.
Not too bothered with lack of functionality as I log my own data in Excel, with everything else I do. food, walking etc.
Strips way cheaper. Prefer Home Health to Pharmcy4U or Amazon, previous suppliers.
Box could be slightly bigger for my ham fists....
 
I have had both. Not much to choose between them, both use small amounts of blood and the strips are relatively cheap. I have never used any software, just entered readings along with the vital meal information on a simple spreadsheet. As they both cost about £12 or so, just buy one, if you don't like it get the other one.
 
I have used neither however something else to consider Home Health the Gluco Navii supplier charges for Control solutions, while Spirit the Tee 2 supplier can add it and batteries to your order for free.
 
TEE2 user here. I haven't tried the Gluco Navii, but feel they both do the job relatively cheaply.
TEE2 strips have gone up in price since my last batch, but since I'm now in remission I'm using so few it no longer makes any real difference to me - certainly not enough to switch meters.
 
I went for the Gluco Navii mainly due to test strips cost. See how I go! Thanks everyone for your helpful comments.
 
Updating to say I spoke to Home Health today as I decided to go for the Navii due to the cheaper strips. They gave me a code to use for a free meter as I was buying 5 packs of strips.

If you use this link and select the meter plus 5 packs of strips and then add the code dcuk (all lower case) at check-out, you’ll get the meter free. So total cost for meter + 5 x 50 strips will be £31.76.
