Hello everyone
I have been 4 years since diagnosed with type 1 my wieght was from 60-70 KG i lost weight to 44 KG before diagnosed but i starter to gain weight now i reached to 88 KG i work out every day walking for an hour with some excercise
I made Complete lipid profile last year i was 220 for cholesterol level
Even with trying to reduce weight i eat now only one meal and take 10 units from novorapid
And 26 for lantus
Any suggestions for decrease weight
Im 28 164 cm and 88 KG
Regards

Your basal seems quite high compared to your bolus. Are you able to reduce the lantus? (My DN told me that I needed to reduce my lantus in order to lose weight, but obviously you can't do it so much that it shoots your blood sugars up.)

I will try this
All my efforts are gone
My weight increased in fact

I think i should stop eating at all
And use lantus only as basal
Anyone this method helped him

Have you tried asking your diabetic clinic for advice? Make a record for a week of what you're currently eating, along with blood sugars, and see what they say. There may be medical reasons for weight gain (eg overactive thryroid?). Good luck. (And no, starving yourself completely doesn't seem like a good idea to me. :)).

Hi. Two things. First what sort of diet are you having? Are you low-carbing? Also, you don't appear to be carb counting with the fixed 10 units of Bolus which is quite high. I wonder whether you are taking more carbs ot match the 10 units of Bolus whereas you should be keeping the carbs down and matching the insulin to that carb level per meal? Note that insulin never causes weight gain but it enables the body to metabolise any carbs you have which in turn can cause weight gain. The DN was not correct in saying reducing the Basal reduces weight gain as such.

Are you having a lot of hypos? It's really hard to lose weight when you're forced to eat for hypos.
