Hi, I'm type 1, use Freestyle Libre, Novorapid and Levimir.
I've been eating mainly convenience food so it's easy to work out the carbs so I'm sure I'm getting it right most of the time. Take Novorapid 10/15 mins before I eat usually on a 1:7 ratio as advised by my diabetic specialist at the hospital. My blood is fine for 3/4/5 hours and then I get a blood spike going up to 16/19/21 and I have to take more Novorapid to bring my blood down to level. This happens regularly, like 80% of the time that I eat. Doesn't matter what food it is, slow release carbs, fast release carbs, small meals or big.
I have emailed my diabetic specialist and all she says is maybe try a higher dose like 1:6 but I already go hypo sometimes taking 1:7 so I'm scared to try 1:6.
This is really worrying and frustrating because I am doing every thing I can to try and get this right so any help would be great thanks
