Hey all!
I was told at my latest diabetes hospital appointment that I should attend a DAFNE course. Not because I need to learn to carb count - I've been doing that for the last few years - but because we need to find out what's going on with my nighttime levels as they're pretty random. Anyway, the consultant wants me to have a monitor on for a week or so and he's not allowed to do that until I've been on a carb counting course. Bizarrely they say the course is cheaper than the monitor! So they've sent me all the details of the DAFNE course and as long as I'm happy to go to the main hospital, I can go next week or in November or January. If I want the local hospital it would be March or April next year. So maybe being flexible about where you go helps? Unfortunately for me I have to try to persuade work to let me go so next week's a non starter and as I have no holiday left this year, it might have to wait until next year. How did you all get on with time off work for DAFNE?
